Who We Are

Since 2007, Club Praxis has distinguished itself as an independent French-American think tank dedicated to crafting innovative solutions for today’s most complex societal issues. Its work bridges the gap between academic research and action, addressing critical topics such as innovation, pension reform, deepfakes, or digital health. By harnessing the power of big data, the organization develops forward-thinking public policies rooted in the essential values of stability, equity, and transparency.
A defining strength of the organization is its unique positioning as a New York-based laboratory of ideas that provides a necessary international lens on European public debate. Under the leadership of Yann Coatanlem and with the foundational support of figures like Henri de Castries, the think tank operates with a commitment to pragmatism and non-partisanship. Central to its philosophy is the principle of subsidiarity—ensuring that decision-making remains as close to the citizen as possible—alongside a commitment to lifelong learning and total financial autonomy. Unlike many organizations, Club Praxis accepts no public or private subsidies, ensuring its research remains entirely neutral and focused on the long-term public interest.
The think tank’s impact is further bolstered by its multidisciplinary nature, uniting economists, researchers, senior civil servants, and corporate leaders to tackle problems with both ambition and caution. Every publication is a collaborative effort with leading global specialists, resulting in high-impact partnerships with the French government, the European Commission, and institutions like the Académie des Sciences Morales et Politiques, the AXA Research Fund, and the Institut des Politiques Publiques, amongst many. This collaborative ecosystem is also strengthened by occasional ties with Business France, the Open Government Partnership, and Labex ReFi.
This sustained excellence was formally recognized in 2018, when the Académie des Sciences Morales et Politiques awarded Club Praxis its Special Prize in recognition of the organization's entire body of work and its significant contributions to public discourse.
